Our history reflects who we are today. Sorensen Gross has an 85-year tradition of integrity, quality and excellence in the construction industry.

The Sorensen Gross Construction Company was founded in 1925 in Grand Rapids, Michigan by John Sorensen and Robert Gross. The company moved to Flint in 1927 and quickly established itself as the city's premiere builder.

Ghassan Saab took over the reigns of the company in 1966, and in 1972 Richard Sly joined him in the executive offices. Together, they have steered the company with a steady hand and an appreciation and respect for the original owners’ guiding principles.

While best known in our home base of Flint and sou theastern Michigan, Sorensen Gross has a permanent presence in North Carolina, Virginia, Florida, Massachusetts, New York and Minnesota and has completed projects throughout the United States, Canada and Middle East (Egypt, Jordan and Saudi Arabia). Regardless of project locale, Sorensen Gross is able to develop a construction team to meet the client’s needs.

Over the years, projects have grown in size and complexity due to modern technology, tighter budgets and greater time constraints. Responding to meet these needs, Ghassan Saab and Richard Sly led the company to offer a variety of delivery methods which include construction management, design/build, general contracting, international services and construction trades.
