SG Construction Services

A HISTORY BUILT ON A FOUNDATION OF INTEGRITY

Our history has a lot to do with who we are today. Sorensen Gross has an 80-year tradition of integrity, quality and excellence in the construction industry.

The Sorensen Gross Construction Company was founded in 1925 in Grand Rapids, Michigan by John Sorensen and Robert Gross. The company moved to Flint in 1927 and quickly established itself as the premiere builder in the city.

In 1966, Ghassan Saab took over the reigns of the company. In 1972, Richard Sly joined him in the executive offices. Together, they have steered the company with a steady hand and with an appreciation and respect for the original owners’ guiding principles.

In 1996, SG Construction Services (SGCS) was established by separating program management from general construction. SGCS has successfully managed commercial, educational, municipal, institutional and industrial projects through all levels of construction and was managed by President Robert Avendt.

In 2008, SG Construction Services merged with Sorensen Gross Construction Company to become Sorensen Gross Construction Services. This merger will make the company more efficient by bringing together construction management and general construction.
